Our Task and Plan Of Action

The goal of this project is to provide research detailing how to use regenerative agroforestry in close to all environments so that even in barren environments a green and fertile farm can be created. This research will be supported by models made in the Minecraft software. A basemap from real-life environments will be used to create the terrain. Following that, a template for an agroforestry farm in Minecraft will be made and applied to the created environment. Not only will this research aid reNature, but the models will also serve as a way for reNature to show the world more about agroforestry, and it’s beauty. In order to finish off the project as a success the task needed to be worked out into a Plan of Action. The button below redirects you to the document.

The commissioning party

For this project the team needed to connect with a commissioning party themselves. There were no requirements for who or what the commissioning party had to be. The team was lucky enough to land another place with reNature. They are a company that supports farmers and corporates in the transition from standard agriculture to Regenerative Agroforestry. Regenerative Agroforestry is a cultivation system that merges trees and agriculture. This makes it so that agriculture doesn’t have to compete with nature. It has many benefits for the environment in comparison to a normal monoculture farm. They work with people and organizations all around the globe from Brazil to Indonesia.

Our contact within the company is Waas Thissen the Research Coordinator & European Project Manager of reNature.

The Team

I wasn't the group leader for this project. Our great group leader was Arik Santee. Our team consisted of:

Every group members portfolio is accessible by clicking on their names.

Our Group Portfolio.

This project the team had a Group Portfolio where most of the information about our project could be found. Things like the deliverables we had delivered, the members of the team and their portfolios or task in the team, etc. To go to this group portfolio you have to press the button below. This portfolio is in English so that any non-dutch client can follow it.

Personal Development Plan

The personal development plan describes skills that I want to develop during this project, other wise know as 'the development goals'. My development goals this project are:

  1. (FB) Decision-making skills: Supports others in making decisions by asking questions.

  2. (FA) Goal Orientation: Indicates how goals will be achieved through concrete actions.

I determined these development goals using a Skill Monitor which can be found on this page aswell. The pop that describes my learning goals is formulated in SMART. What this means and how I have adhered to it is shown below. I made the personal development plan by filling in the PDP form. It can be found by clicking on the image here on the right.

''SMART''

The acronym SMART stands for specific, measurable, acceptable, realistic and time-bound. Here is another description of how my PDP meets it.

Specific: My development goals are specific because they clearly describe the skill I want to improve and where it can be found in the skill monitor.

Measurable: Goal 1 is measurable by looking at the brainstorming document on the group portfolio. Here I will have asked plenty of questions to ensure that the solution we come up with is of high quality. Goal 2 is measurable by looking at my contribution to the Plan of Action. Here I describe the deliverables otherwise known as the concrete actions on how the goals will be achieved.

Assignable: The development goals are assignable, this is because they can be developed during this project. I have also been assigned the task of working on these learning objectives by the group leader.

Realistic: These development goals are realistic because they are attainable and not too difficult to achieve within the given time period.

Time-related: The PDP is time bound as I had to finish it before the project started. I also did an interim evaluation which can be read below.

Skill Monitor

In order to keep track of the progress of my skills, I filled out a skill monitor. This also showed the skills I still needed to improve which therefore ended up in the PDP. Clicking on the image below will take you to the skill monitor.

Interim Evaluation

24 March 2021

The second learning goal (FA) Results Orientation has already been largely completed. In fact, I have described in the plan of action, using concrete actions, how the goals can be achieved. The first learning goal (FB) Decision Making is also well underway. Indeed, we have just started working on the morphological map where I have had the opportunity to support the team by asking critical questions. However, this is something I am still working on.

Final Evaluation

6 June 2021

Learning goal 1 has been accomplished. I have contributed greatly to asking concrete questions during the writing of the morphological chart and the program of requirements. Learning goal 2 has also been achieved. Thanks to my contribution, among other things, a plan of action has been drawn up to describe how the goals can be achieved through concrete actions.

The rest of the evaluation is in the PDP form.
